About Us
Westwood Christian Church is a congregationally governed group of Christian believers.  We wish to be undenominational, with no extra congregational organization in control, and in subjection only to the Lord Himself as revealed in the Holy Bible.  We desire to reproduce in doctrine, life, and practice the Church founded by Christ.  We seek to exalt the Church founded by Christ.  We seek to exalt Christ above sect, and the Bible above all human creeds.  We desire to build a Christian Church without denominational name, man-made creed, or other barriers to Christian unity.  Our desire is to be known simply as "Christians."  We do not claim to be the only Christians; but, we do insist on being known as Christians only.

Terms of Fellowship

The terms of fellowship in the church are as broad as the conditions of salvation set forth in the Bible and are identical
to them.  They are: (1) FAITH in Jesus Christ as the Son of God and the Savior of men, (2) REPENTANCE of sin, (3) CONFESSION of Jesus as the Christ and the Lord of all, (4) BAPTISM (immersion) in the name of the Father, and the
Son, and the Holy Spirit for the forgiveness of sin, and (5) FAITHFULNESS to the Lord's will as revealed in His Word.

Our Position

There are three slogans which may be used to summarize our position:
"When the Bible speaks, we speak."
"Where the Bible is silent, we are silent."
"In essentials, unity; in opinion, liberty; in all things, love."
Our Goal

The goal of Westwood Christian Church from its inception has been to remain true and faithful to the Word of God.  As much as possible, New Testament precedents are imitated.  We baptize by immersion for the forgiveness of sins and serve the Lord's Supper every Lord's Day.  Our preaching is about Christ, and our prayers are in the name of Christ.  We adhere to Christ's commission to disciple the world.

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
