Dean’s Dispatch
This week
several of the men of the congregation are busy making several much-needed
updates on the church building. There
have been numerous projects undertaken.
A new monitor has been placed at the rear of the auditorium to assist
the choir, the song leader, and the preacher.
A wall has been added in the balcony to help minimize some noise
issues. And, several other modifications
are in the planning stages. But, the
change that will be most noticeable is the enlargement of the entranceway. The wall between the foyer and the old
nursery has been removed to make the lobby area significantly bigger.
This
alteration was necessary to accommodate the larger crowds we have as the
congregation continues to grow. I am
sure there will be those who lament the fact that the building was
altered. There may even be some who are troubled
over the change. But, rather than being
saddened by changes that are being made to the building, we should be ecstatic
that the Lord is making additions to His church!
This is an
exciting time to serve with the congregation at Westwood! I am excited about what the future
holds. I have no idea what types of
changes may become necessary in the future, but I am thrilled with what the
Lord is accomplishing here. Jesus
promised His disciples that He would build His church. Then, He assured them that the gates of Hades
would not overpower it. (Matthew 16:18)
If Satan and His legions could not stop the growth of the Lord’s church,
of course the members of the Lord’s body should be exhilarated to see Jesus’
promise being fulfilled at Westwood! We
serve the living God and the risen Savior.
How wonderful to see His church living and growing in our community!
Because
He lives,
